About Me

Hi, I’m Leigh Trupin—Christian author, ministry founder, podcast host, and someone who had to learn the hard way that you don’t need religion or rules to know God.

I created Baby Steps with Christ and wrote the award-winning book Dear New Believer, Love God to help people like you—those who are new to faith, spiritually curious, or conditioned to believe that following God means following religious traditions.

I didn’t grow up knowing God. When He first introduced Himself to me, I assumed the only way to get to know Him was through church, reading the Bible, and tithing. That’s what I was conditioned to believe following God meant. But the more I tried to fit into religious expectations, the more frustrated, lost, and confused I became.

I didn’t need rules. I needed a personal relationship with God—one I didn’t know was possible to have. I needed someone to tell me I could go directly to Him—that He speaks, teaches, and transforms us in a deeply personal way.

But no one told me that.

My journey wasn’t easy. I was caught in a very real spiritual battle between God and Satan—something I never imagined was even possible. Up until my personal interaction with both, I didn’t know either existed. Church didn’t help me. Christian books didn’t help me. Advice from people I believed were mature Christians didn’t help me. What helped me was learning to cry out to God directly and developing a one-on-one relationship with Him. That’s when everything changed for me.

God taught me everything I needed to know Himself—through trials, turmoil, and ultimately, transformation. He met me where I was, and now I want to help others find Him the same way. I want to form the community that I didn’t have when I began my journey. I’m committed to helping people discover God in a way that’s personal, honest, real, and free from the pressure of religion.

Whether you're new to Christianity, questioning religion, or frustrated by the way you’ve been conditioned to believe in religion rather than relationship with God, you’re not alone. I’ve been where you are—and I’m here to help, one baby step at a time.
